I love the ending you gave! I must say I was severely shocked when I saw it was Glorfindel (though I had my guesses), but the conversation you gave with Elrond made me agree with him. How in Arda do you do it? It's spectacular. Plain and simple, absolutely spectacular! The lessons woven in here are hard to forget, even on my end! It is to be treasured, to be sure! I do wish you would refrain from the uncouth words, because I love your writing I do not desire anything to damper on the splendour you present. A lovely pageant! And I must say, you aught to give us something on the wolves! Hilarious! And I do so love the name. Dolien... dolen... mm! Genius.

Author's Response:

Thanks Elemmire -

I'm so glad you didn't guess it was Glorfindel! I had been accused that people could always guess my story since I write Glorfindel so predictably, so I thought, "Ok, I'll fool you!" I'm sorry 'bout the language. I don't use it myself, but sometimes it just seems like a character would say something pretty strong. I *do* try to keep it to only once or twice a fic, if only so it has more impact. I tell myself, if it's good enough for Shakespeare....:-)

Thank you as always for your enthusiastic praise - you can certainly brighten my day when the gloomy clouds are hovering.

Exciting cut! It is almost better than the full flow you had on Teitho! I read it there and knew it was you, without a fragment of a doubt. Only third place? It deserves so much more! I read Turtles and liked it well enough, but you have such an intense and delightfully thrilling story! Poor Legolas! I adore how you show his youth, and how you do not forget what you have made him: "His scattered wits were beginning to function, spurred by adrenaline and the emerging character of an elf to be reckoned with—at least in a few more years." I love it! Pure brilliance to mention Elrond... it gives a thought of wonderment and confusion. How could Elrond be a part of it? Bravo, bravo, a thousand praises.

Aha! Legolas-bootcamp. What an idea:) I had a little inkling that there was more going on that what you could see on the surface. You gave enough hints for that - Dolien was so very efficient and matter-of-fact for a villain. It was most unusual. But I hadn't expected Glorfy under the mask, you surprised me there:)

As for Arwen and the wolves: Do I spot the originals for little red riding hood here? What if the Brothers Grimm only built on a much older myth - one come down to us from eons past *lowers voice*. Or some such. You have to admit, the thought is hilarious!

And I think one of your sentences sparked a bunny:  Even a Mirkwood elf should know that Lorien rope was not to be broken by anything that would not also break the bones held within the coils. That sounds like it could spawn a story.

And lastly, YAY for the Hamlet-quote!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Michelle! I tried really hard to write a story that would not give me away as the author, as some have said my Glorfindel is a little too predictable. It was fun writing him a little darker and edgier. Too bad I had to make Legolas such a little innocent to make it work.

The idea of the 'Arwen and the Wolves' being the origin of "little red, etc." is too funny. But all these myths and tales have to come from *somewhere*....

As for the bunny from that line; run with it! No one's every taken something from one of my stories as a bunny, so that would be a big move up for me! You know, being an inspiration, and all...
