I LOVED THIS!! It was very interesting. I have one question though, did you come up with the proverbs yourself or did you read them somewhere?

O happy day! I cannot believe you did not place with this one! It is quite good! More, in fact! I for sure, had I not been to lazy to read any of the "Proverbs", would have voted for this! It is equally balanced... a little bit of humour, a little bit of wisdom... great stuff. I loved all of the proverbs, but my favourite was 'Only a fool tests the depth of the water with both feet!' assuredly! That was so funny! The last proverb was a stroke of genius. Where on earth did you find all of them?
My few problems were when you had Legolas say "happy fetch one." when you needed a 'to' in there. Also, Estel's reply “Legolas, what are you talking about and why are you dragging me out of bed so early?” seemed awkward. I think you need to break it into two sentences, like this: "Legolas, what are you talking about? Why are you dragging me out of bed so early?" In my mind, (mind you), it seems better for the flow of the story, separating the two, since they are so different. Other than that, I'm good. I've never thought about having to learn to fall off the horse! It has been in my mind that you only need to stay on! Good stuff! ^_^! Thanks for the review on my story, again!

Author's Response:

Why thank you! I am glad you liked this one. I think it didn't place because there are parts which are jarring and in rereading I can see it doesn't flow well.  And the reviewers at HASA had a field day with it! sigh. But thanks for the thought! There were some good stories that month (there always are)

I love proverbs and already knew some of them, but I searched the sites listed at the Teitho challenge. I made a list of those I liked and couldn't choose just one! So I used them all... *grin*

Thanks for catching those errors! I do need to re-edit this piece. sigh. Too much to write, too little time. And yes, you have to learn to FALL off a horse properly...it could save your life! *grumbles about horse dragging my head down a wall* VERY important lesson!

Thanks for reviewing! I'm happy to know you liked it!
