The circular momentum of this story struck me, like whirlpool galaxy it begins and ends in the same place, but visits lots of other places in between. Places that echo and reecho the farewells and partings in the beginning and ending. Excellently crafted in it's symmetry.

But what I love best about this story is Elrond's palpable pride in this son of his heart and how you wrapped those long removed ancestors into Elrond's satisfaction as well.

I'm madly in love with your Aragorn!

Author's Response:

Thanks for another lovely review!  With this one, I debated whether I could actually tell it all in flashback or if I should switch to a more traditional linear structure.  I decided to go ahead with it in the end because I wanted to show Elrond coming full circle, so to speak.  I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Since the sign of reign in the north kingdom where Elendil reigned was ever the Sceptre of Annuminas and he was the High King, it is likely that he brought the concept from Numenor, and it is thus likely that Elros himself bore such a sign of kingship.

Was glad to have a reason to read this again!

I really liked this, so it got one of my votes:) It was a poignant little ficlet, Elrond's pain at being the one left behind and his bittersweet goodbye to Aragorn in the end. His was a long journey!

Author's Response:

Indeed it was.  I'm glad you enjoyed this portrayal.  Thanks so much for the review and the vote!
