Oh! You wrote THIS story! I knew your name looked very familiar. I absolutely loved this story and it even got one of my votes for the Teitho! I absolutely love your dialogue. You cannot tell yours from Tolkien's so it does not disrupt the story at all to pull from canon. Your descriptions were also very clear, I could see it all unfolding in my mind. And I absolutely LOVED Folcred and cried at the end. Fabulous story!

Author's Response:

Wow, this from such a great author! Thank you so very much! Yes, somehow I wrote this baby. One of your votes on Teitho? Sweet! I tried hard to make Tolkien-authentic dialog. Seems I succeeded.
I had been so worried about the descriptions I had used. Some think I over describe and make it unreadable. I found it hard to say goodbye to Folcred in the end, but I managed. Here, a tissue. (I never imagined making someone cry before!)

I truely do envy you, but it shouldn't be a suprise, are are talented!!

Master and Commander is one of my favortie movies, about the English navy. There is a twelve year old mid-shipman who gets his arm cut off. I can't stand to watch that part, even thought they don't really show any thing.

Some things that do not glitter are gold. Eleiel

Author's Response:

How many times can I say thank you? Thank you still! I am not the only person on here that has talent. (Like... Pentangle... and Pentangle... and maybe even Pentangle! Silvern Tinu and Calaquendi are also good... and Trinkadawn) I will be looking into "Master and Commander". Poor kid! I love your signature!

ahha! Just as I was getting ready to shed a few tears, you  "take this cup from me" with humor. Legolas and gimli are pricless.

Yurg!! a saw!?!?!?! ah *sob*! that reminds me of Master and Commander. but i liked that passage, it not only gave an impression of Isildur's hair, but of Folcred and the language you are using is beautiful.

Indeed it all was beautiful, I would not change a word of it. I truly envy you your talent to write stories that are not only beautiful and faithfull to Tolkiens dream, are very origional and are able to stand alone.

Eleiel

Author's Response:

O, Eleiel! Thank you so much! You are so kind to me! I know I do need to change some things, that even I will not deny, but your review is simply wondrous! (Somebody envies me? That's a surprise) Tears? That means I did a good job! What a relief! I was worried that not many people would catch on to my Gimli/Legolas interaction very well. My sister had to ask me a lot about it cause she was so confused(then again, it was in a draft).
Yes, the saw I must dedicate to Lady Bluejay from fanfiction (of whom I do not read any more for some issues), and she used the same tool. It opened my eyes to how it had to be done. "Master and Commander"? A book, mayhap?
That I am commented faithful to Tolkien and original is some of the best news I have had all week! Gen hannon, Eleiel!

Well, it would certainly be fun to see the bit about Ioreth (and you wouldn't be the first to tamper with your Teitho fic after the voting is over *g*), but maybe that would distract the reader from your main character. So you can only try and see whether the story still works...

As for Teitho: Yes, we have to shuffle the deadline around from time to time to accomodate authors, voters and ourselves, of course. RL has to come first, but eventually we always catch up!

Author's Response:

*g back* Thank you for your answer! Most people just ignore any question when they can! I am not sure tampering is in order in this case. It had been a fun idea, but I got 3rd, which was a big wow for me, so I will let sleeping dogs lie. Not that I want a bad impression on Minas Tirith lady-healers! (Nice to know people running these sites aren't dusty on their Tolkien! I know too many people who would just stare at me if I said "Ioreth"... then again, it could be my pronunciation)

I'm only now catching up on last month's Teitho stories (going to a convention and then catching a cold will do that to you *g*). I always like the possibility to look at canon events through the eyes of a minor or original character. So this was right up my alley. Very enjoyable, especially in the Tolkienesque (is that a word?) pathos.

And even though you didn't use Ioreth, could it be that all female healers in Minas Tirith are babbling a lot? Just a thought:)

Author's Response:

Ai! thank you for stopping by. Though not through experience, I can understand the problem you found yourself in. (Would that explain the late results?) Your kindness is much appreciated!
I had planned on adding something on Ioreth, how she had trained the girl I have shown, and also how many people she (Niedhiel) speaks with tell her she babbles, to which she would find completely unbased (taught unknowingly to ramble by Ioreth). Unfortunatley, I was short on time, and had to make do without. For the first time I feel that I have been rated to some justice, not just a ten out of pity's sake(or lack of care). Thank you for coming by! Everyone holds your word as an accolade.
