Very enjoyable read, there definitely should be more Thorongil fic around. It's a very interesting time in Aragorn's life and there are many blank spots to fill!
I loved the subtle shifts of how these two regarded each other. And it made Denethor very believable.
On a side note: Everyone who writes a good Gandalf has my everlasting love. He's such an entertaining, witty, serious, plotting character:)
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review. I do plan on writing more Thorongil fics eventually. There's more to be said about Denethor, too. Gandalf is one of my favorites. I am in a minority on this site, in that I don't go for the Aragorn-Legolas friendship before the War of the Ring. I follow Tolkien in Gandalf being Aragorn's close friend--there are 120 years in the Fourth Age for Legolas! Look for a lot more Gandalf in my stories--he will show up toward the end of "Sword of Elendil." |
