Wonderful story - I love Ivorwen's anticipations, her fears and hopes. I find it hard to imagine how hard it must be to not see your family in so long. Especially a child - for her, it must be like meeting a stranger. And yet there's instant familiarity between them.
And btw: The one sentence of the dark powers being weakest when the nights are shortest is somehow causing me an instant bunny alerts. A very inspirational sentence!
