I am English and my favourite character is Aragorn.I first started writing as a child. Later in life, having Internet access encouraged me to take up the hobby again, I wrote my first LOTR fanfic after seeing "The Return of the King" as I wanted to fill in the gaps! It was meant to be my only one, but I fear I've become addicted to writing about my favourite characters.

Hi Linda, yes.. how would matters have turned out differently if they had... It is still a struggle for Gilraen, after all, imho, a lot is asked of her. Her linnod in the appedix of Lord of the Rings speaks volumes to me. I hope that I soon can get the first chapters to my editor since I am rewriting this (what you've read is the old version), so that I can show how Gilraen makes amends with this before she will marry, making use of canon about other fated couples who at their turn made their sacrifices for the good of Middle-earth ánd also hope to make the connection to their son and his love, Arwen later in the novel.

Author's Response: Well, I wanted a horse that was as far away from the usual ME-horses as possible. But I was pretty sure I wasn't far from reality with Mouse. I've known horses like him:) I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks, Linda! I'm so pleased that you like the first few chapters, as I was afraid everyone would fall asleep before they got to the 'good' parts.
Nienor is one of those characters that you create for a specific purpose, but then start to have their own ideas and personality. Now I'm rather fond of him, and feel a little guilty for the wringer I'm putting him through. Not too guilty, though!

I think you are exactly right about Legolas; and he needs Aragorn to help him through this. The ranger is being stubborn at the moment, though. Usually, in my fics, it's the elf that's causing a problem, dunno why, but this time it's Aragorn's turn.
Next chapter is the worst, tissue-wise. Just a warning for a faithful and generous reviewer!
