Aragorn’ POV

I watched it in my people, watched it in my dear friends.

‘It would take the heart of me.’ I thought as I could feel my heart skip a beat.

I remembered my father words; “Become who you were born to be.”

I was meant to be a king, to be my father’s heir and to rule Gondor.

I knew of the speech that would be needed to show courage. I took a deep breath, and swallowed then I raised my sword.

I ride on Brego back and forth in front of my people shouting; “Fall back! Fall back!”

I saw as they looked at me, they were tense as I was; I knew their fears.

I could feel my heart beating very fast now as I look in every one of them, I did not know what I should say, though my speech that escaped my lips was from my heart;

“Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!”

I could felt my eyes grew wet and tears threatening to spill over, and they quickly drifted away and said with a emotional voice “For Frodo…”
