When you click on a story, you will also see related stories. Sometimes, nothing will be listed as related. Other times, you will see a list with stories that are related. If possible, the archive will propose three related stories.
The system recognizes stories as related when the same tag has been used on them. If someone tagged story A with the term "ranger" and someone else tagged story B with the same term then these two stories will be shown as related.
How useful and how comprehensive this feature is depends on how many users actively tag stories. If authors want their stories to appear in relation to something else, they can tag their own stories. But of course every user is welcome to tag stories with whatever they think is useful.
Related stories should not be confused with series. A series has a shared universe whereas related stories can come from different ends of the archive and from several authors.
